| Thank God Marc Hogan is not scared to take on a bet! This guy is brilliant, and you definitely must go and see his show. Never thought one pound could amount to so much! So for al you comedy lovers out there: go see Marc Hogan and keep him from going back in business as a corporate speaker!!! |

| We have a bet at work about who is going to be the first person in the office to get swine flu. In itself this seems a bit of a crazy thing to bet on but not as insane as how Marc Hogan brought his show Actions Speak Louder Than Birds to Edinburgh. At the start of the show the audience learns he is not a comedian by trade. Instead he is a professional speaker who was bet he could write and perform for an hour every night at the Fringe. As the show plays out through a polished Powerpoint presentation (which works surprisingly well as a comedic tool) we are told it started with a pound and ended with him learning how difficult being funny actually is. All this being said, being funny is something he does very well. His professional speaker background means he exudes a confidence which would take many comedians years to perfect and this makes him instantly likeable as a performer. He is presenting himself and a show rather than just telling jokes and as a result the audience is treated to a performance rather than just stand up. I’m not going to spoil the meaning of the show’s title – you’ll just have to see it to find out for yourself. Most definitely recommended – not just for the laughs but for the way it makes you feel like you too could achieve something you never thought possible. In betting terms, it’s a dead cert winner. |

| Went to see Marc Hogan do his thing this weekend after someone gave me a flier. Surprisingly good (“quite” funny – ha ha), considering he’s been in the business for less than a year! One to watch? |
